After carrying out a detailed seismic assessment of this 11-storey 1980’s concrete frame building we identified that several columns had inadequate confinement reinforcement, a number of columns were not adequately tied back to the floor structure and that the dycore flooring system was not suitably supported. The strengthening works have involved the using Macalloy bar to restrain the columns, wrapping the columns with tyfo wraps to achieve confinement and installing angles under the dycore seating locations.  These works are currently under construction.
